AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Twin Tides Tattoo uses single-use needles and hospital-grade sterilization.
We ensure sanitary conditions have been met during the application of your tattoo.
A fresh tattoo is an open wound, and should be treated as such.
By following these simple instructions, your healing process should be quick and easy.
Leave the initial bandage on for at least 3 hours, but up to 12 hours. If the bandage sticks to your skin when it comes time to remove it, run cool water over it, allowing it to work itself free.
Wash the area gently with a mild, fragrance-free, liquid antibacterial soap (such as Dial or Softsoap) and water. Do this with clean hands, making sure to remove all excess ointment, blood, and ink. Gently pat dry with a paper towel. DO NOT SCRUB!
Wash your tattoo 2 to 3 times a day. After washing, allow the skin to dry and apply a VERY THIN layer of Aquaphor, A&D Ointment, or Bacitracin. Do this for 3 days. You should use just enough so that it is absorbed into the skin: no more, no less.
From the 4th day on: apply a mild, fragrance-free, moisturizing lotion (Lubriderm works well) until the tattoo settles into the skin. This typically takes 3-4 weeks.
You should expect to see your tattoo peel, flake, and scab. This is a normal part of the healing process.
It is completely normal for your tattoo to itch, but it is imperative that you DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT YOUR TATTOO.
NO TANNING, SWIMMING, OR SOAKING for 2 weeks.
